Confirmation is a three-year program designed for 7th-9th graders. Students who have not previously participated in a full year of confirmation classes will start with the first year curriculum.
1st year curriculum: “Connecting with the Bible”, an exploration of the Old & New Testaments.
2nd year curriculum: “Life as a Lutheran”, which is an introduction to Martin Luther and Lutheran theology.
3rd year curriculum: “Faith Conversations”, led by Pastor Bruce.
But confirmation is more than a class; it is a ministry through which students learn how their faith can be active in their daily lives. It helps youth feel more at home in the church. At the end of the confirmation program, students will have a deeper and more personal idea about what they believe and who God is. They will learn how to live out that faith in the church and the world. Confirmation is part of a lifelong journey of faith, filled with new questions and answers, new discoveries, new relationships, new responsibilities, and new possibilities. It is just one step of a much larger journey that gives youth the tools to live out their Christian faith.
